Juvenile myoclonic epilepsy is an epileptic disorder.
In this disease patients use to have various types of seizures. However, myoclonus is the commonest one. But myoclonus in JME usually occurs in morning after awakening, during fasting. If you have myoclonus while going for sleep or during early stages of sleep, you have evaluate whether your sleep is adequate. Since sleep deprivation can aggravate myoclonus.

1. Consult a neurologist
2. Do an EEG now, to look for presence of abnormalities.
3. If abnormalities are present, additional drugs are needed
4. Avoid phenytoin, carbamazepine drugs
