Jelly like blood clots in stool

2025-09-21 19:01:18
I live in hostel and sometimes eat food from outside. Since 2-3 days I am having a little blood when I pass stool. Today I felt the urge to poop and after I finished I saw a lot of blood with jelly like clots, like menstrual clots. I don't have any pain, fever. And I pass stool at regular intervals. I am very scared what could it be? Is there anything to be worried about?

Mostly by the history you have given  it is like to be fissure or hemorrhoids. One cannot start treatment without examining and diagnosing. You don't have to worry about it , but it must be treated by a surgeon.

What you described — bright red blood with jelly-like clots, no pain, normal bowel frequency — can be caused by a few conditions. Some are mild and common, while others need medical attention. Common (and sometimes less serious) causes: -Anal fissures Small tears in the skin of the anus. Usually cause pain during or after stool, which you don’t have — so this is less likely. -Hemorrhoids (Piles) Swollen veins in the rectum or anus. Can bleed bright red, especially during or after straining. Often painless, especially if they are internal. Jelly-like mucus can also be present. -Infectious colitis or food-related irritation Eating outside can sometimes expose you to bacteria or parasites. Blood and mucus may be passed due to intestinal inflammation. Usually, there’s diarrhea, pain, or fever, which you don’t report — but it's still possible.
Next Steps
Sudden increase in blood Presence of clots/mucus No pain or other major symptoms These signs should not be ignored.
Health Tips
Avoid outside foods and stay hydrated for some days
