Jaundice level 12.1 at 5 day of new born
My baby born 5 days back and we have checked with doc today , after examine her body skin and eye , he told he has jaundice level of 12.1 mg . He suggest to keep baby in early morning sun light and Under bright light . Also he told us to visit hospital and monitor level for 3 days . Is it norma ? Jaundice will go away it's own ? Please note my baby taking mother feeding 2 times per day and rest he s taking formula milk , since my wife doesn't have enough milk
Baby needs to be examined, if billirubin level of 12mg/dl at 5th day of life in a baby with weight more than 2.5 kg is acceptable. Present day if the baby is active accepting feeds, and yellowish discoloration has not increased than the previous finding it is safe. If any of the points discussed above are not met you need to consult a doctor physically.
