Dear Doctor, After the laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, I noticed some swelling and a small blood clot at the IV cannula puncture site(s) on my hand/arm. Could you please advise if any medication or treatment is required and share a prescription if needed? Thank you.

It is quite common to see such swelling, you can use an ointment over the cannula site

You can apply ice on it along with thrombophob ointment for 7-10 days.
Next Steps
If you notice pain, increase in size of the swelling, stretched skin then kindly visit a general surgeon immediately as it could be an abscess.
