Issue with leg

2025-01-24 04:10:49
My little puppy (Indian breed) who is 3 months old got hurt in his one of the front legs. Not sure if it's broken or not. When I touched the leg, he didn't react so I feel it's not broken yet. Little bit skin peeling and blood is there. I used betadine liquid for that. He is facing challenge while walking. Can anyone guide me what to use for that leg?

Good that you have already cleaned the wound with Betadine.. Difficulty walking, sometimes the injury could involve- tissue damage/ sprain/ sometimes minor fracture.
Next Steps
1. Keep the wound clean – Continue applying Betadine 1-2 times a day to prevent infection. NOTE-Avoid strong antiseptics like Dettol or alcohol, as they can be harsh on the skin. 2. Apply an antibiotic ointment – After cleaning, use a pet-safe antibiotic ointment to help healing. 3. Rest is key – Restrict his movements 4. Cold compress (if swelling). 5. Pain relief(vet specific)- avoidhuman painkillers..
Health Tips
Swelling/increasd pain– Could indicate a deeper injury. Persistent limping beyond 2-3 days – Might need an X-ray to check for fractures. Pus, foul smell, or excessive redness,, require infection control (as per vet adv). If he’s still struggling to walk after 1-2 days or the injury worsens, a vet visit is essential to rule out fractures or ligament issue. Hope this helps.thanks
