Hi, I understand your concern. Since your son is 10.3 years old, 23 kg and 130 cm, it’s important not to focus on weight alone because children’s nutritional requirements are based on age, growth pattern and BMI-for-age percentiles. His difficulty digesting chapatis, dal, vegetables and rice, along with frequently skipping meals, should not be ignored. Rather than forcing large meals, try smaller, frequent and easy-to-digest meals. You can also experiment with softer preparations such as khichdi, dal-rice, vegetable soups, idli, dosa, curd rice, eggs/paneer (if tolerated), smoothies, etc. Fruits can be offered in different forms if he doesn't prefer whole fruits.
Next Steps
I can help you plan a balanced, child-friendly diet according to his digestion, activity level and growth requirements. You can connect with me for a detailed consultation.
Health Tips
However, because he is experiencing recurrent digestive discomfort and is avoiding meals, I would recommend a proper assessment to understand whether there is acidity, constipation, food intolerance or any other gastrointestinal issue. A pediatrician’s evaluation may be appropriate if symptoms are persistent.

For skipping-meal issues, keep it simple: * Breakfast: protein + carb + fruit * Mid-morning: fruit / nuts / curd * Lunch: roti/rice + dal/paneer/chicken/egg + vegetables + curd * Evening: roasted chana/makhana + tea/coffee * Dinner: light protein + vegetables + roti/rice * Keep 1–2 emergency snacks ready for busy days. * Set meal reminders and avoid gaps longer than 4–5 hours. * If a full meal is not possible, take a small balanced meal instead of skipping completely.
