Is it strange that my wisdom teeth hurt?

I am asking this because it's kind of strange that my wisdom teeth hurt now. My wisdom teeth started to appear some 3 years ago. Now specifically to my lower jaw, the teeth on both sides have fully appeared but they are growing horizontally which I realised about 3 moths ago when my left tooth showed completely. Now keeping  in mind that my lower wisdom teeth are growing vertically, my left tooth is almost completely visible now except for the back gum that still covers what is supposed to be the top back but is actually the side back (since vertical) So since the past 3 days my right teeth suddenly started hurting sometimes upto my ear and lower right incisor. And I am baffled because the tooth has already appeared upto this point without hurting so why is it hurting/trying to grow now? If at all it is trying to. At first i did suspect a cavity but then I thought this is possible. Could it be the tooth trying to grow? And why now?

Hi Wisdom tooth pain is common. Pain is either due to less space in the jaw which is not allowing the wisdom tooth to erupt or cavity in the tooth or both . Please visit a dentist and get a checkup and x-rays done.your dentist will advise the treatment to you accordingly. HOPE THAT HELPS DR.Nisha.Harwani
