Is it important to take progesterones

I am 28 years old. It's been 5 months I am married and I am 6 weeks pregnant now, my scanning reports and blood tests are normal. Doctor suggested me to take 2 types of tablets to increase progesterones, is it important to take? I never had any abortions before or ever had pcod. I conceived naturally. Will it be riskful if i don't take progesterones? I feel hungry once in every 3 hours and having good food and fruits, drinking plenty of warm water daily, not having any vomitings. Can I skip these tablets? Please suggest.  Thank you in advance

Taking progesterone in a normal pregnancy will be over-treatment. It has no scientific basis
