My sister who is 37 years old and in 31st week of pregnancy has sugar level reading of 5 times for a day as mentioned in the attachment. Does she require insulin? Is it mandatory or she can have some other medicine? Kindly suggest.

Your sisters sugar readings are above the goal for pregnancy. She requires additional medicines. There are only a couple of medications that can be taken safely during pregnancy. That includes 2 types of pills and insulin. Depending on what medicines she is currently taking, she may or may not need insulin.
Next Steps
Schedule a consultation to discuss her current medications and need for insulin
