Dear sir/mam, My father had inflamatory bowel disease for 8-10 years and before 7 years, he underwent an operation to remove the large intestine (inflected area) He is currently doing good but has frequent bowel movements because of the operation and is dealing with weight loss He also takes prescribed sleep medicine because of sleep deprivation Is it safe for him to get vaccination for covid? If yes, Which vaccine should he take? What should be the precautions for him? Thank you 😊

Dear user, Covid vaccine is generally considered safe. I would suggest to go for Covishield ( personal preference - no scientific data between covishield versus covaxin). But be in mind the timing in vaccine, if he had recent any infection or he is on immunomodulators drugs for bowel disease ( like steroids) Regards
