Hello sir/ madam I am married since 2 years and experiencing irregular menstrual cycle since 5 6 months. earlier my periods would be on time, but since then I get my periods like 12-15 days late every month. I had consulted a gynaecologist and been diagnosed with PCOS and taken medications for the same. But the problem has not resolved. Shall this cause any problem since we are thinking of family planning shortly?kindly advise. thank you

Hello, Irregular periods affect your ovulation time and hence, lowers your chances to conceive. You should visit a gynecologist in person for further evaluation and treatment. Once your PCOS is completely cured, you can start planning for a family.

Irregular period / pcos means ovulation is improper. If there is no ovulation u cannot conceive. However it can be corrected by lifestyle modification. I would suggest you to lose some weight and engage in some physical activity regularly.  Consult a gynaecologist if your periods are still irregular.
