Insulin Resistance During Fever

I took a blood test when i had a fever of 38.3 deg celsius. My fasting glucose levels were slightly outside the normal range, thus my doctor wrote medication for me. I have PCOS and am 16 years old. My weight is 94 kg and height is 170 cm. However, i found out that it is normal to get insulin resistant readings during a fever. Thus, the diagnosis might be false? Should i take the medication, or get another blood test to be sure? She said it's very mild, so shouldn't diet and exercise suffice?

Diet and exercise is always the key. Tablets may aid a bit but isn’t compulsory
