Yes there are chances of recurrence, just like other autoimmune conditions like hypothyroidism or Arthritis.
She should stay under the follow up of a rheumatologist and she has to keep following up regularly.
The disease does not completely disappear but yes it can be fully controlled.
This is not due to one single gene, so the chances of the next generation having it are low but not absent.
