I recently met a girl who shared her past medical history with me, mentioning that she had lupus, an autoimmune disease.
She was diagnosed in 2019, underwent treatment with steroids as advised by her doctor, and successfully recovered in 2021.

She should stay under the follow up of a rheumatologist and she has to keep following up regularly.
The disease does not completely disappear but yes it can be fully controlled.
This is not due to one single gene, so the chances of the next generation having it are low but not absent.
