Inner cheeks rough

Hi. Its been 3 weeks my inner cheeks both sides are rough. I went to ENT who said that they seem dry and the salivary glands are not producing much saliva. He advised to change my diet to a healthier one. Plz note that i am not a smoker. When can i expect this roughness to go away if i follow good diet and oral hygiene ?
