Hello. Glad to hear you want to pursue Psychology. Mental health requires more awareness and is a growing field since the need for it is building.
To answer your questions:
1. After
Std X, you need to study Psychology in Class 11,12, followed by a graduate degree of 3 years (BA/BSc) with a full major (6 subjects) in Psychology. Thereafter, you will need to do a 2 year Post Graduation (MA/MSc) in Psychology with a specialisation in Clinical Psychology, which will qualify you to be Psychologist. To be a registered Clinical Psychologist, you will then need to do a 2 year MPhil from a recognised institute. So total education of 10+2+3+2+2 for a Clinical Psychologist.
2. Starting salary for a Psychologist is around Rs. 20,000 per month on average, but tends to vary depending on industry and location.
3 & 4. Psychology is an interesting subject and requires a lot of reading. It was not difficult to study, but requires hard work.
Work as a Psychologist is very interesting and every client you see is different.
Next Steps
I would suggest you try to do an “observership” at a place of your interest, depending on where you think you would like to work in the future.
Health Tips
Working in a hospital setting or with patients with mental illnesses can get intense and draining. You will need to train yourself well enough so that it does not affect you personally.
