She is both an atrial fibrillation and an hemiplegic patient. She has been on nebivolol, digoxin and acitrom. While climbing stairs or walking continously her heart rate increases. What is the reason for this. Is it due to the effect of atrial fibrillation or effect of the hemiplegia? How to cure the increasing heart rate while straining.? Pls help.

Hello.. Well it's a physiological phenomena of increasing the heart rate on straining or on work because the body will demand more oxygen and nutrition as compared to rest hence the heart will try to compensate for the increasing demand by racing the heart...I don't think you need to worry if it's physiological...still to be on a safer side I would advice to take ecg...thank you
