My spouse is in her 14th week of pregnancy. She has tested HbE trait Heterozygous. I have also being tested HbD Punjab heterozygous. Our gynaecologist is suggesting to consult an gene specialist. Is there a reason to worry? Does our child have a possible of Thalassemia? How serious that can be?
