Hydroquinone side effects

Hi, i am facing stubborn hyperpigmentation due to a peel. I am currently using Lumivoid cream which is helping but very slowly. I wanted to try Hydroquinone, but there is a lot of fear about OCHRONOSIS. I want to know does it happen even with short term usage. Also, has any of you actually seen it with your patients? How to differentiate OCHRONOSIS from normal pigmentation?

Ochronosis is troublesome side effect of long term hydroquinone use.. I have seen quite a few patients who have been using creams brought over the counter from chemists.. it's unlikely to occur after short term usage.. but please don't use it without Dermatologic guidance.. Yes it can be differentiated from pigmentation based on clinical and dermoscopic features.. For detailed guidance and treatment please get a direct consultation
