I am a 45 year old woman born with a heart defect. i go for my check ups regularly, in my recent visit the doctor found something amiss and asked for further evaluation. results showed that i have endocarditis. how is endocarditis treated. will i have to go for surgery?

Endocarditis is infection in heart, long course of antibiotics needed, if does resolves and complication occurs, may need surgery also, endocarditis is serious issue, consult cardiologist
