My dad is 65 years old and he has had a chronic kidney disease for the past few years. We just went to the hospital for regular checkup and they were using a term called “Pathophysiology” and I was lost. Could someone explain pathophysiology in reference to chronic kidney disease?

Pathophysiology of any disease refers to causative factors followed by impact on structure and functioning of body by a disease. So in context of CKD it refers to causes, development and progression of CKD.
