I had blisters and pus on my palms and fingers around 5 years back. At that the time my doctor diagnosed me with herpetic whitlow. But the symptoms of herpes didn't match mine. The infection on my hands cleared up after having acyclovir. Years later, I just wanted to get myself checked and found that both my igg and igm levels for hsv-1 and hsv-2 are negative. I am not sexually active as well. Was I misdiagnosed for herpetic whitlow or is it possible that even if it was herpetic whitlow I won't have the herpes virus?
