Herpes diagnosis

I was diagnosed with genital herpes almost a year ago as I had visible lesions. I have recently had the HSV iGg blood test and if came out negative for HSV 1 & 2. Is it possible that it’s a false negative (after a year) or an incorrect initial diagnosis? I have heard you can get false positive tests but false negatives appear rare especially after one year. Thanks

Both appear to be possible. False positive or initial wrong diagnosis. Because once u have had herpes, igg should be always positive
