Heaviness in the knee muscle

Just a few days back, I am observing that I am getting a little heaviness around the knee muscle while walking and feel better after sitting down. To explain in detail, the part of the inner side of the knee that touches the other leg. I am used to standing for long hours doing something or the other in the kitchen etc. Is it because of this?
