Health Anxiety and Panic

2021-10-19 15:28:38
Hi Doctors, For almost two months I have been going through some health anxieties. I get panicked of Tetanus when I receive a small scratch or cut (even though I took a Tt shot only 16 days ago). Also what if HIV Transmits through the cuts or any other way ( I am Virgin, but mustarbate once or twice a week). Earlier this year I was really scared about getting cancer. I am taking phone counseling for almost 1.5 months. But it's taking a lot of time to recover. I don't know whether it is possible for doctors to understand my case over practo as the time slots are really less. Please let me know if anybody can spend sometime for appointment it would be very helpful. Also I don't want to take any pills with long term side effects.

You need to consult with Psychiatrist . Proper evaluation and diagnosis is required first to be able to solve the issue.  This could be anxiety or OC features.  I can understand your concern but it is important that you first take proper consultation and then decide next steps.

It seems you have fear of contracting a serious illness which might be related to phobia or ocd. Your condition will improve with medication and therapy.
Next Steps
I suggest you teleconsult a psychiatrist via video or meet in person.
