Smoking and Alcohol are other common reasons for peripheral neuropathy. Immediate cessation of all forms of nicotine and alcohol is advisable.
Often, blockage of blood vessels can also lead to such symptoms, called vascular claudication.
Rarely, compression of nerves or spinal cord may cause such symptoms, called radiculopathy/ neurogenic claudication.
Most infrequent would be tumors pressing on the tip of your spinal cord (conus) or involving the nerves arising from that tip (Cauda equina).
