Sometimes while extracting the lower wisdom tooth, a little bone needs to be removed. This essentially gets washed away with all the blood and suction. However, some small pieces, may get stuck to the gums very firmly and are hard to removed and see during the procedure. They may later present as hard swellings not exceeding 5mm which can be painful to the touch. The 2 week time period is for the doctor to observe if this swelling subsides on it's own. There is nothing to worry about. The worst that can happen is that, the doctor may need to make a small cut and remove the piece of bone. If they suspect anything else, they will do the investigations for the same.
Next Steps
