Hi there ...need not to worry because thumb sucking in children is completely normal till 4years of age ...it has many causes ...major being 1. lack of emotional love and care OR 2. just for pleasure.. But, try to stop your child from this habit gradually, because if it continues ...can lead to many dental and oral problems in future ... Visit a nearest pediatric dentist for further assistance on this... Take care ..!!

Hi., thumb sucking is more attributed to the psychological behaviour of the child..it goes away as the child grows..but stil u need to find out the reason...if the habbit continues thr r many options to break the habbit..best is u visit a pedodontist for proper evaluation and best advice ..best of luck feel free to ask ne further queries take care

Toddlers suck their thumb to comfort themselves. It's not something that requires treatment at this stage. Please give some time for your little one to outgrow this habit. Treatment is recommended in case the child continues to suck the thumb after 4 to 5 years of age.
