Hand pain became red black after few day

Hi my father is 65 years old.1 week back he got hurt to hand and his hand is paining since then .took xray it was normal but pain is still persisting.took pain killers but still didn't cure .Today evening the site where he is having pain became red black grey almost more than ball area very big area it is like reddish black and grey.What may be the reason.Plz reply we are worried alot.TIA

He might had a bruise over hand.. Discoloration can be a normal course of healing.. However needs images to confirm.. Also look for peripheral pulses.
