I have been suffering from hairfall problem, then the doctor advised me minoxidil 5%.after applying the solution it was very itchy,so i started using foam5% instead of solution.after applying for two months the hair is falling at a rapid rate but i haven't noticed stoppage of hairfall...does the foam takes longer time to act than solution? How long will it take?

Hair fall may increase at the start with minoxidil treatment. And using foam formulation will not affect the treatment response if you are using it as advised. Two months of minoxidil use and still continuing hair fall means it's not responding to minoxidil alone. Other factors need to be ruled out and if it is AGA only hormonal options need to be tried.

Hi Thanks for your query. Hair in young men is usually attributed to hormones and genetics. Since we are unable to change your genetics, we can take steps to protect the hair you have and fight the effect of hormones and genetics. Options include using vitamins to balance your diet, such as a Hair/Nail/Skin vitamin. Topical medications such as minoxidil to increase blood flow to the hair follicle. Oral medication such as finasteride to block the effects of hormones on the hair follicle.
