Does hairline fracture require the cast to heal? Is that the only best way to treat hairline fracture or any small crack?

Cast application is the most effective way of conservative treatment of the undisplaced and hair line fractures. However, hairline fractures can be treated with appropriate braces with proper precautions.

• Limb elevation, Active/Passive finger/Toe movements. • Rest/Non-weight-bearing mobilization till further advice. • Watch for increased Swelling/Excessive pain/Toe or Finger discoloration/Fever. If present, visit the nearest hospital immediately.
