1. Guided means under image intensifier guidance (imaging) for increased precision and accuracy. 2. Injection can contain depoprednisolone(steroid), Platelet rich plasma(PRP) or Hyaluronic acid(HA). 3. Steroid has potential chondrotoxic effects but not a big problem if injection is given once. Hyaluronic acid is associated with hypersensitivity and PRP has no major side effects. 4. Given commonly for ankle osteoarhrtitis or rheumatoid arthritis .
