Got bitten by stray dog.

Hello Doctor, Was feeding a stray dog when it bit my hand near my knuckle. Didn't really bleed, extremely tiny drop of blood formed, like when poked by a safety pin. Washed my hand and applied a perfume on and around the wound(didn't feel any burning sensation at all) as did not have dettol or any other antiseptic liquid at the moment. Its a local, friendly and healthy dog, definitely does not look sick in any way so I don't really think it is infected but yet would prefer your opinion. Will there be a need to take any medicines or injections ? Thanking you.

Hi there I understand your concern and anxiety... It's better to take antirabies vaccine along with tetanus toxoid...you should take antirabies vaccine for 5 days if it's intramuscular regimen or for 4 days if it's intradermal regimen... I would suggest you to consult nearest physician they will do the needful.. Regards.
