Why have I been given the antipsychotic ARIPIPRAZOLE for depression? My other meds are clonotril, nexito and venlift. How do antipsychotic work in case of depression if I do not have any psychotic symptoms

Some Serotonin Dopaminergic Antagonists (also known as Atypical Antipsychotics) are frequently prescribed in illnesses other than Psychosis, for their utility in those other diseases. These include both Depressive and Anxiety disorders. The term Anti Psychotic often gives a misleading impression that these drugs are useful only in Psychosis. It isn't so. Hope this helps. If you still have doubts, discuss them with your Doctor, I am sure it'll help allay your concerns.
