Seizure and Epilepsy or fits are common terms used for the same condition. Epilepsy is a disorder with recurrent seizure.
When you say generalised seizure, if it is witnessed my someone and you had a loss of consciousness and it has happened more than once, it can be termed epilepsy.
To confirm EEG would show abnormal seizure activity during the event. EEG can be normal when taken inbetween the episodes or when you are on medications.
Routine MRI may be normal. You can do a Epilepsy protocol MRI.
Lack of sleep can trigger seizure or Epilepsy.
Practice good sleeping habits. You can do a video EEG and MRI Epilepsy protocol.
Follow your Neurologist advice. If in doubt take a second opinion physically from a Neuro specialist.
