Now a days it is better to get operate timely, no need to wait for complications. In planned surgery, operation will be easy and better for patient. In emergency situation, sometimes operation have to convert to open surgery for betterment of patient.

Usually there is an indication for cholecystectomy if it is symptomatic or in other conditions like if the patient is diabetic or had previous history of cholecystitis or gall stone pancreatitis
