My dad who is 63 years old recovered from covid, he is diabetic and was on 4 mg steroid for 10 days.. He is healthy and normal now, my doubt is, how long a person is susceptible for black or other fungal diseases from the day of recovery? Kindly answer

Your father was on low dose steroids. The risk for back fungus or mucormycosis is minimal. Please maintain good diabetic control. Watch out for danger symptoms like 1. Facial pain/numbness 2. Black or brown nasal/eye discharge 3. Severe headache/eye pain 4. Blackening of the skin of the eyelid

He is at minor risk because of diabetes and steroids but monitor for symptoms of unilateral stabbing facial pain , swelling in the face or eye and congestion of nose . Don’t panic out . Low dose steroids possess minimal risk but close monitor is essential
