Foot drop after knee replacement

Hello Doc, My mother is 56 yrs old and underwent a knee replacement surgery on both her knees. After the surgery she developed a foot drop in her right foot. She cannot move her big toe. There is slight movement in the adjacent two toes and full movement in the last two. Its been 15 days since her surgery and we have seen the foot gain some muscle weight since the surgery. Will she have a problem in walking and how long will it take her to recover? What treatments should we consider?

if some movement in other toes is present then the movement should recover. With physiotherapy of knee do ask your physiotherapist to work on ankle and foot movements.
