Fever to my 6 month old son

My 6.5 month old son is having fever for 2 days usually 2-3 times a day. I have given him paracetamol drops (T98). His head gets warm and rest of the body is relatively cool. What could be the reason and how to treat his fever??? His weight is 6.5 kg
