When ever temperature is checked at underarms, we need to add 1 degree more to the temperature recorded by the thermometer. For example if thermometer shows 98.6 F at armpit, you need to read it a 99.6 F. Generally temperature between 97-99 F is considered normal. Temperature varies from morning to night, hence the normal temperature is not a single value but a range. Temperature more than 100 F is considered significant.
