Fertigyn HP 500iu HCG  during pregnancy

My wife is 8week 5days pregnant. Early obstetrics scan finding shows corpus luteum not visualised in any of the ovaries.so doctor prescribed Fertigyn HP 500iu HCG for 4 week to avoid miscarriage . Most website shows its risk taking this injection during pregnancy like birth defect. Please suggest
