Feeding through tube

My mother had commando surgery (wide resection + neck dissection + flap reconstruction usually) in May 2025 for recurrent carcinoma of the gingivobuccal sulcus. • She has been on tube feeding (Ryles/PEG tube) for ~4 months. • Now the goal is to help her regain safe swallowing so that the tube can eventually be removed. Please suggest the next steps so that we can achieve the goal of removing the feeding tube and she could take the feed normally and how many days it takes .

Initially start with sips of water If was able to drink Start juices orally followed by semisolids followed by solids If intake is good through mouth Then tube can be removed
