Eye drops for ear inflammation?

I'm having an Ear inflammation for quite some time and my doctor gave me a Ciloxan eye drops for it. My consern is that on the leaflet is stated that those drops can be used only for eye infections. So my question is - Can I apply those to my ear, and if they will work at all.
