Your extra tooth could be either your left out milk tooth or literally an extra tooth which is present apart from your normal set of teeth. So if you could send a pic of your teeth, can give you a clear opinion. As the treatment for both scenarios, differs.

Need not to worry Firstly get X Ray done It must be small rememnant of primary teeth. Extraction is the only option

Don’t worry go ahead with extraction. At your age smile is most important.

Sir if you are satisfied with the extra tooth, you may not go ahead with extraction. It totally depends on your wish. If the space is available then the dentist may place a crown or veneer on it and try to make it look like a normal tooth. Or else extraction is the last option left. And it's normal to feel scared but you can relax yourself and ask the dentist to minimise the pain as much as particle, though there is almost no pain. Don't worry and be relax. Take care.
Next Steps
May think of no extraction if satisfied with looks. May go for Veneer or Crowns
Health Tips
Be relax and ask dentist to minimize pain as much as possible. Speak out your fear to him.

Is the tooth a deciduous tooth( milk tooth) or permanent? If it is a milk tooth then extraction is the only option. If it is a permanent tooth there may be some options with orthodontics
Next Steps
Take an OPG and revert

It is completely normal. Need not to worry about the extraction. That extra tooth can be a milk teeth or a supernumerary tooth. That can give you problem in future.
Health Tips
Just a small procedure, it won't take more than 15 mins. Don't stress about it.
