Here’s a proper clarification. Erectile dysfunction is a problem that can be both physiological (means due to some issue with the organ) or psychological (means due to stress or other psychiatric disorders). A Urologist is responsible for the physiological problem, means if there is decreased blood flow in the penis. Whereas a Psychiatrist will treat if there is nervousness before having sex due to which there is problem with tightness of the penis or early ejaculation. This can also happen due to stress in life due to other issues. Sometimes it can happen even without stress. If there are symptoms like disturbed sleep, low mood, anxiety, decreased energy, you should consult a psychiatrist for Erectile Dysfunction. Nightfall also comes under psychiatric complaints. Also, there is nothing like a “sexologist”. It is a very misleading practice done by several people. Dont fall in that trap. Always check the degree before going to a doctor.
Next Steps
I suggest you go for a penile doppler, which will check the patency of the blood vessels in the penis and clear all doubt about any physiological cause of the disease. You can also get a CBC,
Thyroid profile and Blood
Sugar (Fasting and PP) done. If all reports are normal, then please consult a psychiatrist. Dont worry, patients DO get well from these conditions. I have seen so many patients getting better and having absolutely normal sex life.
