Elevated TSH level

2025-04-18 18:44:11
Hello doctor. My blood test report indicates that I have a high TSH level of 5.56, while my T3 and T4 levels are normal. I also have PCOS. Do I need to get into a lifelong thyroid medication? Will I be able to suppress my TSH level through diet and exercise? Thanks in advance.

Better to start medicine, tab Eltroxin 25microgram one daily. Repeat thyroid function tests after 3 months.

Get your TPO antibody test.If it's high, you have to take thyroxin. If the tpo level is normal,it's subclinical hypothyroidism in which you need thyroxin if only you are symptomatic, TSH level is above 10 or you are planning for pregnancy.

Change life style n diet plan drastically first.  Tab thyronorm37.5mcg one in empty stomach before breakfast for two months,  not to stop u need follow up by MD physician. With this Add calcium  as thyroxine  is calcium depleting agent so bones become  weak. Shalcal 500 one after dinner. Add walk. You can try changes but as u r a known  case of pcos hard to work Yoga Surya namaskar N baby pose R very  helpful.   U can search in u tube  SAURABH BOTHRA  FOR SURYA NAMASKAR  WITH  MAT, CHAIR STANDING,  SITTING  VERSION. SO AS BABY POSE.
