Ear wax removal and hearing issues

My husband has removed ear wax from both the ears after that he started hearing less ( reduced by 50%) in one ear and feeling like air pressure ( like flight).. what should I do? I feel worried.. please help does it solve by own. FYI He has lots of wax deposited inside his ears and he used cotton buds

Examination of the ear is necessary by a ent surgeon. otrivin nasal drop on both nostrils . Do a pure tone audiometry of the ear .
