Ear problem
I have a major problem in my ears each time I fly in an aircraft. The ears pain a lot at the time of take off and even more at landing time. Also, the ears remain closed for days after and there is intermittent popping sound in the ear. This is a reoccurring problem and ear drops don't seem to have helped.
Someone has told me that I need to have an incision in the eardrum.
Please advise and if possible, the approx cost of the treatment.

Making an incision on the drum would be to damage the ear drum.
Instead of consulting such quacks I suggest you take a ENT surgeon's opinion.
He will examine you and put a camera and see the ear then guide you as to what you can do further.
Also, whenever you fly, you can have a chewing gum in Your mouth.
The chewing motion and swallowing motion will also give you relief.
