you might have infection of the ear known as acute otitis media where pus gets collected behind ear drum causing severe pain. after treatment infection subsides and pain disappears but for few days to weeks there can be collection of fluid in middle ear which will usually disappear over time. this will lead to decreased hearing. if your symptoms persist beyond three months you need to consult nearby ENT specialist
