Ear pressure while lying down
Three months have passed, my ear pressure problem is not resolving, I have taken antibiotics course 3 times, after leaving antibiotics the problem feels again ,I have visited 3-4 different ENT specialists, every doc prescribed antibiotics with a new one , now today again doc prescribed me
Clarithromycin 250 bd
Cefuroxime 500 bd
Ct scan PNS showing inflammation
Pure tone audiometry normal
Impedance audiometry normal
What should I do
Even if there is no fluid in the ear showing a normal Impedence audiometry, ear pressure on lying down is most probably due to Eustachian tube dysfunction which correlates to the inflammation you have in your sinuses, while your ear examination with PTA is normal.
Next Steps
I suggest you do a diagnostic nasal endoscopy to check for the eustachian tube function. Continue with the treatment prescribed to you. We can add antihistamines and nasal decongestant sprays followed by steam inhalation.
