first of all you need yo understand in brief how normal ear functions
ear contains a tympanic membrane , three small bones which transmit sound to inner ear which processes your hearing and finally sends sound to brain. in the initial steps of hearing you need to have normal tympanic membrane (ear drum) with air behind it with normally functioning bones, whenever one of them is abnormal hearing will be effected.
nose plays major role in maintaining air inside ear via a tube known as eustachian tube. whenever there is infection or allergy in your nose, there will be abnormal functioning of the eustachian tube and air behind ear drum is reduced which can cause mild pain and blocking sensation in your ear
since you don't have any wax in your ear or infection in your ear as confirmed by you its likely that you are suffering from eustachian tube dysfunction.
treatment of this condition is mainly to treat problem in your nose such as decongestant medicines in the form of nasal drops, tablets and sometimes a course of antibiotics. you also need to do something known as valsalva manoeuvre frequently ( search Google or you tube for more information)
i hope this information helps you
